Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about your order, your cookware, and getting the very best from it.
Where is my order?
Once your order is fully processed and on its way, we'll email you a tracking number and link automatically. Orders are processed within 1–3 business days, so tracking usually arrives shortly after that.
If you haven't received your tracking email 5 business days after purchase, please check your spam and promotions folders first — and if it's not there, just contact us and we'll look it up for you right away.
How long does delivery take?
After processing (1–3 business days), estimated delivery times are:
- United States: 7–14 business days
- Canada: 10–20 business days
- Europe: 10–20 business days
- Australia & New Zealand: 14–25 business days
- Rest of world: 14–30 business days
These are estimates rather than guarantees — local postal services, customs, and carrier delays can affect the exact date.
My tracking hasn't updated in a few days — is something wrong?
Almost always, no. Tracking can take up to 48 hours to display after your order ships, and it's normal for scans to pause for a day or two while a package moves between facilities or clears transit.
You may also see your tracking refresh or update more than once as the carrier finalizes details — that's just the system syncing, not a problem with your order.
If your tracking hasn't moved at all for more than 7 days, get in touch and we'll chase it up with the carrier for you.
My tracking says delivered, but I don't have my order
Please contact us first — we'll open an investigation with the carrier and request their proof of delivery, including driver notes and the recorded drop-off location. We'll work with you until it's resolved.
In the meantime, these steps resolve most cases:
- Check around the property — porch, side or back yard, garage, behind planters, near the mailbox
- Ask other members of your household, and any immediate neighbors
- Give it another 24–48 hours; carriers occasionally scan a parcel as delivered slightly early
Please reach out to us before opening a dispute with your bank — we can almost always sort this out faster and more easily directly.
Why did my order arrive in more than one package?
Larger orders — particularly those with several pans or a large cutting board — are often shipped in separate parcels so each item is properly protected and reaches you as quickly as possible.
This means part of your order may arrive a day or two before the rest, and you may receive more than one tracking number. If something is still missing a few days after the first parcel lands, just let us know.
I received several shipping emails — have I been charged more than once?
No. Shipping and tracking emails are automatic updates on your existing order — they are never a new charge or a new purchase. It's common to receive a few as your parcel progresses and tracking details refresh.
If you'd like reassurance, contact us with your name or order number and we'll confirm exactly what's on your account.
Something is missing from my order
We're sorry — let us make it right. Contact us with your order number and let us know which item is missing, and we'll arrange for it to be sent out to you as quickly as possible.
Do also check whether the rest of your order is arriving separately (see above), as bundled items and free gifts sometimes travel in their own parcel.
Can I change or cancel my order?
We can usually amend or cancel an order within 24 hours of purchase, provided it hasn't yet been processed for shipping. Contact us as soon as possible and we'll do everything we can.
Once an order has been dispatched, we're no longer able to recall it — but you're still covered by our 30-day return policy once it arrives.
I accidentally placed the same order twice
No problem at all — just contact us with both order numbers and we'll sort it out. If the duplicate hasn't shipped yet we can cancel and refund it; if it has already gone out, we'll find the best solution for you.
Will I pay customs or import fees?
US orders: no. The price at checkout is the final price — no additional duties, import taxes, or surprise fees on delivery.
International orders: some countries apply customs duties, VAT, or import fees on arrival. These are set by your local customs authority, aren't included in our prices, and are payable by the recipient.
Can I ship to a different address?
If your order hasn't shipped yet, contact us straight away with the correct address and we'll update it. Once a parcel is in transit we can't redirect it, so please double-check your address at checkout — including any apartment or unit number.
What are Hewn pans made of?
Our pans are engineered from multiple bonded layers rather than a single sheet of metal:
- A pure titanium cooking surface with our SlipScale honeycomb texture — non-toxic and naturally food-releasing
- A multi-layer aluminum core that draws heat in quickly, stabilizes it, and spreads it evenly to the edges
- An induction-ready stainless steel base for strength and even, reliable heating
That layered construction is what gives you fast, even heat and a surface built to last — rather than a thin coating over a single piece of lightweight metal.
Are your pans non-toxic?
Yes. The cooking surface is titanium and free from PFOA and PFAS — no chemical non-stick coating to worry about, and no need for the extra oil and butter conventional pans demand.
What sizes do you offer?
- Mini — 8", ideal for eggs, single servings, and smaller kitchens
- Standard — 10" / 26cm, our most popular everyday size
- Large — 12" / 30cm, best for families and bigger meals
Not sure which is right for you? Contact us with a note on what you cook most and we'll happily point you in the right direction.
Is a lid included?
Yes — every pan comes with a matching tempered glass lid included, so you can see your food as it cooks without lifting it.
Can I use it on induction? Is it oven safe?
Yes to both. The stainless steel base makes our pans fully induction-ready, and they also work on gas, electric, and ceramic cooktops.
They're oven safe up to 600°F, so you can sear on the stovetop and finish in the oven with the same pan.
Is it dishwasher safe?
It is — though we recommend hand washing with warm soapy water and a soft sponge. It takes under a minute, and it keeps the cooking surface at its smoothest and best-performing for years.
How do I get the best non-stick performance?
Titanium behaves a little differently from chemically-coated non-stick, and these three habits make all the difference:
- Cook on medium. Our pans heat quickly and hold heat well, so medium is usually all you need. High heat is the single most common cause of food gripping the surface.
- Let the pan warm first, then add your fat. Give it a minute or two, add your oil or butter, and let it warm with the pan so it coats the whole surface before food goes in.
- Let food release on its own. Protein forms a natural crust and lifts away cleanly when it's ready. If it resists, give it another 20–30 seconds rather than forcing it.
Once you've found the right heat setting for your cooktop, you'll get beautiful release every time — most people are surprised by the difference after just a few meals.
Which utensils should I use?
Wooden, silicone, or nylon utensils are the best way to keep your cooking surface pristine. Our titanium surface is far tougher than conventional non-stick, but avoiding metal utensils and abrasive scourers will keep it smooth and beautiful for the long haul.
How do I keep my pan looking new?
Let the pan cool before washing, then clean with warm soapy water and a soft sponge.
Over time you may notice faint discoloration or a light film — that's simply oil residue from cooking, and it's completely normal on titanium and stainless cookware. A non-abrasive cleaner such as Bar Keeper's Friend, worked gently with a soft sponge, will bring it straight back to its original finish.
Cooking on medium rather than high will also stop residue from baking on in the first place.
Do I need to season or prepare it before first use?
No seasoning required. Just give it a quick wash and dry before your first cook, and you're ready to go.
What is your return policy?
If something isn't right, our support team is here to help within 30 days of delivery. We're able to accept a return when the item is unused, undamaged, and in its original packaging, and you have a valid order number or proof of purchase.
If your item has already been used, we'll still work with you to find a fair solution — including troubleshooting, guidance, or a replacement where applicable.
How do I start a return?
Email us at contact@hewns.co with your order number and the reason for the return. We'll review it, send you a Return Authorization and the correct return address, and guide you through the rest.
Before you do, it's always worth telling us what didn't work out — very often there's a simple fix, or a better-suited size or product we can help you into instead.
Who pays for return shipping?
Return shipping is covered by the customer, unless the item arrived damaged or defective — in which case it's on us. We recommend using a tracked service, as we can't be responsible for return parcels lost in transit.
When will I receive my refund?
Once your return reaches us and has been inspected, we'll email you to confirm. Approved refunds are issued to your original payment method within 5–10 business days.
If it's been longer than 10 business days, check with your bank or card provider first — processing times vary — and then get in touch and we'll chase it for you.
My item arrived damaged or faulty
Please contact us within 7 days of delivery with clear photos or a short video showing the issue. We'll review it and arrange a replacement or a full refund at no cost to you.
Is my cookware under warranty?
Yes — Hewn products are covered by a limited lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship, under normal household use.
The warranty doesn't extend to normal wear and tear, cosmetic changes, scratches, discoloration or staining, misuse, overheating, accidental damage, improper cleaning or storage, commercial use, or damage from abrasive materials and utensils.
To make a claim, send us your proof of purchase along with photos and a description of the issue and we'll take it from there.
How do I get in touch?
We'd genuinely rather hear from you than have you sit with a problem — whatever it is, there's usually a straightforward solution.
